From Chery International Press Release
The OMODA 5, the first product under Chery's new global OMODA series, has been awarded a full five-star safety rating by the stringent European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP), scoring highly in the Adult Occupant, Child Occupant, Vulnerable Road Users and Safety Assist categories.
The SUV’s success in this test is rooted in its user-centric focus and relentless pursuit of quality, having taken into account the key demands of global consumers from the R&D and design stages.
It has not only made great advancements in body structure, safety configuration and other aspects, but has carried out adaptive development verification in different environments and road conditions around the world, including acing the Tri-Extreme Tests, conducted in extreme environments of low temperatures (<-40°C), high temperatures (nearly 50°C) and high altitudes (5,200 metres).
78% of the OMODA 5’s body is high-strength steel, capable of withstanding pressures of up to 1,800 MPa, and the body itself has been meticulously designed and manufactured to maintain its overall structure without deforming in the event of collisions. Additionally, its Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) incorporates 16 functions, including adaptive cruise control, to further maximise occupant safety and comfort.
Boosted by this recognition of its global-standard safety and quality, the OMODA 5 steps onto the international stage with a new attitude. The SUV has to date been launched in China, Kuwait, Israel and several other markets, and will make its way to many other countries and regions in the coming year.
